Antenna


-I'm experiencing bad GSM- reception from the unit. Is it possible to use a wired antenna with the unit that is placed further away?

Yes, that is possible. It is required that in this case use a GSM- antenna and that the connection should have a male socket of the type SMA. 


App for Android


-I cannot find the general button for settings on the android app, the one called Menu Key and is needed to show the menu for settings.

On newer androids phones the general button for settings has been removed. We have solved this by adding a menu button on the main page. It is also possible on some phones to reach the settings menu by pressing and holding down the Multi-tasking- button. For more See “Ontech Technical Note”.


- I'm not getting any SMS back from the unit when sending a command.

If your SIM- card has run out of balance, it can not respond to your phone. However it is possible for the unit to receive commands and carry out the settings.


Alarm


-Why am I not receiving any SMS alarms when I activate an alarm sensor?

This can be depend on different things. Control and make sure that the alarm function is activated, that there is a receiver on the alarm list and that there is credit on your SIM card.


Extra relay 9015


-I have installed an extra relay 9015 and can control the relay but I cannot see the temperature and can’t set the thermostat on the relay.

To use the temperature functions on the Ontech Relay 9015, the main units Ontech GSM 9025 and Ontech GSM 9035 must have the R34- software or higher. Temperature functions can except showing temperature also thermostat function and temperature alarm. Your software version is showed in the top in all SMS and you can also see it by clicking “Get Master Function” in the app.

-I have an older Ontech unit that does not exist on this website. Where do I find the information?

The information regarding older units is found at www.ondico.se


Settings


-How do I get to the settings of the unit if I don't have a smartphone with the android app??

If you have another smartphone than an Android, simply open the web browser and go to http://www.ontechgsm.com/set.html. Here you can generate a code that you can send to the unit in a SMS.


SIM- card


-Does all types of SIM card work?

-Do I have to take out the SIM card to refill it?

All SIM cards that is using an operator that supports a GSM network is compatible with our units. The operators that only use 3G or 4G does not work. In Sweden these are Three and Wifog.

We recommend all users that are using a prepaid- card to register it at the operator. You can then monitor and refill your SIM card online without taking it out from the unit.
